WHAT BAPTISTS BELIEVE
14. SEPARATION
We believe that all the saved are called into a life of separation from all worldly and sinful
practices. (II Cor 6: 11-18; Jn 17:9-23; I Cor 10:23-33; I Cor 8: 1-13; I Jn 2:15-17; James 4:4;
Rom 12:1,2; I Pet 1:15,16; I Pet 2:9-19; Jn 15:1-17; I Thes 5:5-24).
1. Saved People are Separated people
Separation means to part or disconnect from the world and sinful practices
II Cor 6:11-18
Not unequally yoked…. with evil associations, with unbelievers, in marriage or business

2. Saved People are not a Stumblingblock
Stumbling Block is that which causes one to trip or err in any way
I Cor 8:9,12,13
Saved people are at liberty, meaning we can do all that is legal or right. Yet if we offend anyone
by something that we are doing, then we are in sin, to continues doing this.
Even though we may have the right to do what we did, we are not to cause someone to stumble.
3. Saved People are a Sacrificing people
Sacrifice meaning to surrender, submit or give place to
I Pet 2:9-19 Submit (Eph 5:21-27)
Rom 12:1,2 Present your bodies a living sacrifice
I Pet 1:15,16 Be ye holy as I am holy.
4. Saved People are a Sanctified people
Sanctified meaning set apart
Jn 17:9-23
We are not of the world, but are of Christ, we are sanctified by His truth
5. Saved People are a Sealed people
Sealed meaning enclosed and also showing ownership of another, that is the Lord’s property
Eph 1:13
A sign of His presence in our lives found in I Jn 2:15-17, that we love not the world
The Spirit bears witness of this Seal to God Rom 8:16, I Jn 5:6
James 4:4 whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God
Saved People are to be a Surrendered people and will be rewarded as such
